its your abs brake light coming on it stops car skidding on wet roads
Fix the fault in the ABS system
were can i find abs censors on a vauxhall vectra cheers
the abs sensors are located in the wheel hubs next to the cv joint. they come as part of the hub and driving in deep snow shouldn't affect them.
I am fairly sure that the Astra G (Mk 4) models withoutABS have the speed sensor in the gearbox, and the ABS models take the road speed from the left-hand front wheel hub. Unfortunately, the gearboxes fitted to ABS models have the speed sensor hole plugged, so this is something to consider if replacing the gearbox.
it sounds like the abs sensor is faulty ive been told that abs sensors is a common fault on the vectra. find a garage that compter tests the abs system
"Antilock Brake System"
I am pretty sure it has, since my Astra 97 has it too... (thoroughly tested this winter, works great :-) )
The ABS light is on because there is a problem with the ABS. The ABS will not function when the light is on. The light will remain on until the problem is fixed.
Suggest you obtain a manual for this. There are different valves for hatch/estate,and depend wether ABS or not.It can be a simple adjustment or require a pressure checking rig.Too many variables to cover here.
