It is possible for someone to gain 20 pounds but still have their clothes fit if the weight gain is due to an increase in muscle mass rather than fat. Muscle is denser than fat, so even though the person may have gained weight, their body composition has changed in a way that allows their clothes to still fit.

Weight gain can be due to various factors such as muscle mass increase, water retention, or changes in body composition. If you've gained 10 pounds but your clothes still fit, it could be because the weight gain is distributed differently on your body or your clothes have some stretch or room for the extra weight.
