It is actually all within each individual muscle cell, and the less you use it the faster you lose the mitochondria in it, which are like it's power house that produce ATP( energy) and it is replaced with fat. But the more you use it, it will gain mitochondria and ATP. After two weeks of excercise every day or so you should notice a good difference. Ten weeks of every day after theat you are in supposedly really good shape.
