There is no set time for any strained muscle to heal, it is all dependent on the individual. It would be recommened to rest the strained muscle as much as possible as anything too strenuous will increase the length of recovery. There is a good five step process to remember called PRICE, this stands for: protection, rest, ice, compression & elevationhttp://www.wisegeek.com/how-should-i-treat-a-strained-muscle.htm Go to the above link for a helpful guide on how to treat a strained muscle. Hope this helps. Aaron

The healing time of a muscle wound is greatly affected by factors such as the muscle injured and severity of injury. It is generally accepted; however, that the normal tearing down of muscles caused by strenuous exercise requires 48 hours to heal and strengthen. People who work out every day usually circumvent this by working out different muscle groups every day while the others heal.
..I remember when I tore my thigh muscle from stretching.. I stopped stretching for at least a week, just to be on the safe side not to damage it again.

You have subscapularis, supraspinatus, infraspinatus muscles attached to the inner and outer surfaces of the scapula. You have teres minor and major muscles attached to lateral border of the scapula. You have pectoralis major muscle (clavicular head) attached to clavicle.
