If you have ever done a Google image search for six pack abs you will see there is quite a difference between different abs. It all depends on the number of exercises they are doing that form each of the different ab muscles. It is also possible to get an eight pack ab, or even just get a 4 pack ab or a 2 pack ab.

Technically, the human "abs" which consist of the rectus abdominis muscle, has four parallel pairs of sections that form the complete muscle. The lower pair is most difficult to be defined or "sculpted" by training, so most people only develop the upper three pair. That is why they call it a six pack, when in reality, it is an eight pack.
