To perform the upright row exercise as recommended by Athlean X, stand with feet shoulder-width apart, hold a barbell or dumbbells in front of thighs, and lift the weight towards the chin, keeping elbows higher than the wrists. Lower the weight back down slowly and repeat for desired reps. Avoid using momentum or jerking motions to prevent injury.
To perform the Athlean X upright row exercise properly, stand with feet shoulder-width apart, hold a barbell with an overhand grip slightly wider than shoulder-width, and lift it towards your chin, keeping elbows higher than wrists. Athlean-X is a combination of both bodyweight and DB/Tubing. You'll need a set of adjustable DB's, tubing, a physio ball and maybe a bench. The DB's and tubing are a must, but you can alter/adjust the exercises that require a ball and bench. I have. Also, I would invest in an Iron Gym pullup bar, if you don't have a place to do pullups from. Overall, the few bucks u spend on the home equip. will be worth it in the long run. Great system. Definitely works for me.
