I've been through this twice, the only real answer is, "It depends." It depends upon how badly you injured yourself, and it depends upon how many times and how badly you re-injure yourself during the healing process. For me, one shoulder took 6 months to heal, the other, which was damaged worse than the first took only 2 months, but I was a lot more careful during that recovery time.
