Please Read! Describing situation!!!
So I'm on Birth Control and should not have my period yet after several days of horrible stabbing lower Back pain and intense cramps I started bleeding heavily today. A few hours ago I found something that looks like flesh on my pad. I've passed clots before, even huge ones, but none that looked like this. It was not at all covered in blood, it looked like healthy living human tissue, healthy pink color and had veins running all through it, about the size of the bottom of a glass. I freaked out, saved it and called my doctor. She told me to take a pregnancy test bc she said it sounds like a miscarriage. The test was negative so she told me not to worry and that it's probably just a clot. However she never saw it and I know my own body, not saying she's wrong but who would know me better then me (she also just recently became my doctor). She told me I can come into her office tomorrow and take a blood pregnancy test but I can't afford it and I don't have insurance yet (but I'll probably do it anyway). I just don't feel comfortable dismissing this as a blood clot, however I've never miscarried before. My aunt is a nurse and has had several miscarriages and she said what I described sounds like a miscarriage but that my doctor could be right too. I took a picture of the tissue just in case my doctor changes her mind and wants to see it. Is it possible to miscarry and have a negative pregnancy test if I just miscarried? What if I miscarried a few weeks or days ago and it's just now coming out? I ask bc my doctor told me that if I just miscarried I would still have a positive pregnancy test result but I know of women who lose the baby but it doesn't come out til weeks after the baby died.
You'll probably be able to tell by how you feel.
No you can not.
It can be but it's rare and time will tell.
A miscarriage means you have definitely lost the baby, there is usually lots of cramping and clots. A threatened miscarriage means just that, you are still pregnant but may miscarry in the future. Any spotting while pregnant can be called a threatened miscarriage and many women go on to have healthy babies. If you still have signs of pregnancy like swollen and sore breasts it is probably just a threatened miscarriage. Most doctors will order an ultrasound scan to tell for sure. I should think that a blood test (Quantitative HCG) would be more reliable than ultrasound. Levels are decreased in the case of miscarriage, threatened &/incomplete abortion, & if the fetus is dead.
You can have a miscarriage at any time during a pregnancy.
You can not.
...Oh, I'm so sorry, well tell all the family to come round to the house, or tell them to meet somewhere, and then say it's really important, and your not messing around. Then tell them about the miscarriage.
i think that i can
Yes, it is possible to have a miscarriage before you know you're pregnant. It happens a lot more than, I think, people know about. I think a doctor can do an exam to tell if you've had a miscarriage or not, but it probably has to be soon after. Call a doctor right away if you want to know. you could definatly have a misscarage before you know you are pregnant because some times you do have what you think are periods so you don't notice changes in your body. some people go full term with out knowing there are pregnant. but i don't think it is possible for a doctor to check if you have had a misscarge once the misscarage is complete.
BUt it isn't your fault. he should be able to understand
They could be checking for any tissue that was not expelled during the miscarriage. They may be able to tell that you were pregnant depending on how long ago the miscarriage happened, and if anything was left behind.
Well, the difference is in the amount of pain you experience. Miscarriage hurts more according to all the experts in this field. Hope this helps
