3 organizations/things that can provide help for victims of abuse are: First and foremost law authorities. if someone is abusing you in such a way that it's physically hurting you (such as being hit or sexually abused) law authorities should be the first people you confide in so the abuser can be prosticuted. if the abuse goes on without authorities being notified things can really get out of hand and you could end up in the hospital or possibly worse. Also, by doing this authorities can make sure you are safe with restraining orders or possibly the abuser being put in jail. Second, getting therapy/speaking to a conselor. Sometimes this requires health insurance, and if you do not have insurance it costs a lot of money. You can research in your area where there are free sevices of therapy they offer to people who can not find help. there are clinics out there who provide very cheap if not free therapy to those who do not have the ability of obtaining therapy by means of money or health insurance. Third, There are many online/internet community messaging boards for a safe place to converse with others who are going through abuse or have been through abuse. They act as a listening ear and can help you cope with your situation and can give you advice from their own experiences. You can Google abuse messaging boards and see what you come across. If the abuse is more of a mental/emotional abuse try to talk to the person who is doing the abusing. If they do not care and are simply just people who look to hurt others, then try to get away from them and get them out of your life. Do not associate with them any longer. Usually people who are out to mentally or emotionally abuse someone are like that in nature and have no real intentions on changing. These are toxic people that you need to filter out of your life. and do not feel bad for moving on without them, it's simply a choice you have to make for yourself so you do not continue feeling the way that you do, and to be honest for someone who mentally or emotionally abuses you they do not need an explanation for your actions to disown them from your life. Hope that this has helped you. Do know that you are not alone. there are many people who have been or still are victims of abuse. I know, I was one of them. But the online/internet community message boards for abuse victims helps a lot in the fact that it makes you feel like you are not alone and you can get help.

However, studies show that men can experience significant levels of physical and emotional abuse, particularly in certain contexts.
