always ask the person you are texting or talking to about themselves people like that. ask them stuff like what they like as presents or favorite stores or whats the farthest you've gone with a guy/girl, favorite song, animal, do they play an instrument, if the person has moved ask them what its like having to leave friends behind or which place they liked the most, ask them what kind or food they like, a good one that I've used is if the person believes in aliens, or religion and stuff like that. (;

others would be to pick one of your best and most funniest memories, and even if you don't no the person say sumthin like " did i ever tell you about the time when.." I've done it a heap of times :P
