You could talk about something happening in school, about something you know he/she likes. There are alot of different things you could talk about. You could get to know him/her. You could ask them about their family life, what they are doing during the weekend. Ask them stuff about them basically. Just, don't talk about smart, Albert Einstein conversation topics. That is just plain out a bad thing to do. If you really want to go out with someone, just be yourself when you are talking to him/her. If you can tell they don't like the real you, then pull yourself away from liking him/her because if they don't like the real you, the relationship won't work.
