Lima beans are very good for you. They contain a lot of important nutrients, particularly fiber, protein, potassium, iron, and magnesium.

The amount of fiber is outstanding. A 1/2 cup serving gives you more than half the fiber you should get each day. Getting enough fiber can significantly reduce your chance for colon cancer, diverticulitus, Heart disease, and many other diseases.

For pregnant women or those with iron deficiency anemia, lima beans are a particularly good food to eat.
