I've actually recently become addicted of the bread & butter pickles with sour cream. Love it as a late night snack cause they're light and simple and a delicious combination that goes great together because of of the tangyness of the pickle and the neutralizing flavor of the sour cream.

Kosher dill pickles are typically sour, not sweet.
There are 2 general types of pickles or gherkins: sweet or sour. The tastes are created by the solution they are pickled in. "Brined" pickles get their sour taste from fermentation, as opposed to the vinegar solutions used for other pickles. Other types of pickles are kosher-type (sour or half-sour), bread-and-butter pickles (a sweeter taste), lime pickles (which may also be salt pickled), and Swedish thin-sliced pickles.
I would think not because whip cream is sweet. Sour cream has a more tangy bitter taste to it.
If cold sour cream is added to a hot dish too quick, it will curdle. You have to temper the sour cream first by adding some of the hot dish to the sour cream slowly stirring, then add the mixture to the hot dish
There are approximately 2 cups in a pound of sour cream. Therefore, in 5 pounds of sour cream, you would have about 10 cups. This can vary slightly depending on the specific density of the sour cream, but 10 cups is a good estimate.
