It will kill it, as long as you get the food up to a high enough temperature (140 F or so), but the mold will still be there, just dead. I would recommend throwing away any food with mold on it. Also, keep in mind that mold can penetrate about an inch into the food beyond the point that it's visible, so don't try not to waste moldy food. If you're brave enough to eat any part of it, make sure to cut out a wide berth around the mold you can see.
Considering you plan to use this plant as intake, I would recommed you throw it away, because it's the same as having mold on your food!
