yes usually if it is a strong smell then wash it if it keep smelling wash it but with Clorox bleach so the smell can reduce other wise the smell will go away on it own. for the future do not put the shrimp inside the garbage, always put them in a plastic so it's water cannot spill inside the trash. and since the shrimp smell, take out the trash can imediately so the smell cannot be in your house. i know this because i watch my parent cook a lot and i know the procedures. good luck!
