How do you know if your Oscar fish is pregnant?

Oscars, are chiclids and they have regular chiclids habits. Once Oscars pair off, they will swim together, and hang out together. They will start cleaning and moving gravel in the area where they'll want to breed. Oscars are alittle tougher to breed then other chiclids, and will sometimes eat their first few batches that they lay.

They clear an area on the bottom of the tank/creek and the female lays her ova which the male fertilises then the pair look after them until they hatch and the fry are capable of fending for themselves.

Oscars can be mature in around 12 months if they are well looked after. I would not advise trying to breed them until they are about 2 years old though.

oscars are relatively solitary. They don’t (dis)like each other so much as they tolerate each other. As long as they aren’t fighting, then they’re alright together
