The weight of a bunch of asparagus is going to vary depending on location and type of asparagus. In my area, we wrap our asparagus at 7 inches in length and 8 ounces or a little more per bunch. Generally speaking, expect to get 14 ounces untrimmed from a pound bunch and 6 ounces untrimmed from a smaller bunch. The reason you're not getting the full 16 and 8 ounces is because of dehydration from the time the asparagus were wrapped until it gets to your kitchen.
