Well, hamsters are small and you have to remember that!

I have had 3 hamsters, 1 Golden Syrian, and now I have 2 little RobrovskiDwarfHamsters=D

My Golden Syrian went mental at things like fireworks going off quite far away! It magnifys to them and they hear it much worse than you do! And we know what it is.. They Don't!

So if I took him out to try and comfort him he jumped of my hands soo maybee you shouldn't try that! He was always soo tame and I had never seen him soo SCARED in his life:S:(

Now my wee Robrovski Hamsters get scared and run about like mad whenever there cage get touched! You can't have them too near the T.V obviously! Thee too wake up so easily and get dead scared when the cage vibrates ATALL! Although when the lid gets lifted of they're fine. They don't get scared atall and like are fine just anything else! They havent head a bonfire yet! Cant wait!

Soo yeahh they cant take THAT much noise! Well you can have a party just have them WAY out the way were they can't hear anything!

Soo..

Yeahh

Hope I helped you=D xxx

Do hamsters make noise?

The only noise I can remember hearing from a hamster is the spinning of the wheel. Although it may not be uncommon to hear a slight squealing occasionally. I found this info about hamster noises: "Sometimes you will hear a single small squeak. We believe that the hamster is calling to another hamster in the hamstery, but a lone hamster is still know to make this noise. Also you may hear a 'terrible squealing when you put your hand in to handle a new hamster. This means that the hamster is afraid. It will not usually bite while it is making this noise. Pick up the hamster gently and cup it in your hands. It will gradually stop. It may take several days to stop it making this noise when you go into its cage but it will stop as it gets used to its cage and you. Some colours are renown for making this squealing noise, particularly YELLOW."

Why does a young dwarf hamster make hissing noises?

Hamsters hiss or make a high pitched screaming noise when they are scared or highly distressed. Say for instance if you are squeezing it too tightly or are handling it too much. If this is the case then it is best to leave the hamster for a couple of days in a quiet room to settle and get used to the smells and sounds of the home. It is not advisable under any circumstance to handle a hamster until it is used to your voice and your smell.

Can you handle your hamster while she is pregnant?
