Obviously it's ok. For me, i do not even play with my hamsters but i put in a hamster exercise ball once a week for it to run around the house. Your hamster won't forget you etc if that's what you are worried about if you don't play with it.

Ok this is what you do. Wash your hands really good. Then put on some gloves and remove the dead hamster. Put it in a bag and throw it away. You do this so the mother hamster doesn't smell your scent because if you touch another baby with your hand she will eat her babies. Hopes this helps.
What can you use for guinea pigs for exercise?
You can buy them one of those wheels that you put in the cage or a ball you put the guinea pig in and it runs around in the house. Ok first of all please do NOT buy a ball. Guinea pigs do not have the spine that a hamster has a ball could injure your guinea pig. Guineas need an hour of exercise daily set up a room for your pigs to run around in or teach them to go up and down the step.

yes it is ok i have 2 hammys and they are always ready to go in their weels and in their ball in the evening and they usually run all through the night.
