Neufchatel Cheese often called 'farmer's cheese' in America is mould ripened, crumbly ,granular and tastes like a mushroom .It is saltier and sharper similar to camembert. It can be whipped up and folded into whipped cream to make a light slightly sweet creamy grainy frosting that can hold as cake icing as new innovations in cake icing but not as cream cheese icing which is more soft and creamy.
Light cream cheese may be known as Diet cream cheese or Less Fat cream cheese. In North America it is called Neufchatel cheese. It has less fat than traditional Cream Cheese.
Certainly! A nice chive and garlic cream cheese goes a long way for extra flavor. Be sure to top the wrapped spears with a bit of olive oil so the prosciutto doesn't dry out.

Sadly, you cannot, that I know of. When I was a kid, and even into my teens, Kraft still made Neufchatel cheese spread with pineapple, in a jar. The cheese was more like a thickish cream cheese, but a tiny bit sweet, maybe from the pineapple. It was delicious and my mom used to stuff celery with it and put it on crackers. I am going to try to make something similar this Thanksgiving using Kraft Neufchatel cheese in bar form and mixing in tiny bits of pineapple. I might even add in some finely chopped walnuts or pecans. I found it at shopfoodex dot com; look for kraft pineapple cheese spread.
Cream cheese has fat, the other doesn't.
