Several breeds lay claim to the largest eggs. If you wish to raise chickens that lay extra large eggs, I would suggest you start with a flock of the following standard size breeds.

Leghorn, Jersey giant, Plymouth Rock, Rhode Island reds, Wyandotte and Delaware.

If you allow them to cross breed, you will get great eggs in fairly good quantity.

In our farms experience... Brown eggs, Moyers form the Moyer Hatchery. White eggs, production Leghorns bred for broilers (lots of Jumbo double yokes!).
