I am supposing this is quick bread not yeast bread. Quick breads use baking powder, soda , steam or air to raise them as opposed to yeast leaven. There are three types of cakes - shortening, angel cakes, and a combination shortening angel cakes called chiffon. Cakes use a special flour that is finer than that of breads and are cooked in different pans. Most cake recipes call for baking powder and most quick breads use soda. ONE IS BREAD AND ONE IS A CAKE!!!!!
