Any oil can be added to flour and the flour will absorb it.

Oils and water are not miscible.
Oil mixes with other similar products like gas, paint thinner, etc.
The mixture looks like chocolate milk.
(Oil floats) mostly mixes with the water forming emulsion which clogs the radiator.

I believe Yamaha came out with oil injection. You do not mix the oil with the gasoline - the oil is in its own reservoir and mixes automatically.
The automatic transmission oil cooler is built into the radiator. If the oil cooler developes a leak the oil mixes with the engine coolant.
Put a few drops in a small cup, mix with water. If it mixes you have latex or acrylic. If it won't mix, or does so then separates it's oil based. -Experienced painters can tell by the odour.
