Yes, if u saved in front of him and if u or Ho-oh die turn off & turn on and re-battle, but don't save when u die or Ho-oh. Another method of re-battling Ho-oh is by just simply battling/re-battling the Elite Four. This cannot be done if u have already caught it. This works for all legendary pokemon.
