well... mine was dry and I got mad and stopped playing for a while then it worked your file won't come back but try asking GameStop
If by memory u mean the save file then that is Ur internal battery source the same device that runs the clocks in the game you need to replace it or just buy a new Pokemon gold game.
Good question, it has a battery but also more importantly it has a specific circuit (not sure what it is) that allows it to save the game.
you have to save at a Pokemon center in your gba game and then trade over Pokemon.
there's a good chance that your battery might be dry. Once that happens you can still play your game but you won't be able to save or migrate Pokemon to the DS games. the only way to fix it is to replace your battery but once it's replaced all of your data on the cartridge will be deleted.
The battery is probably dead. Here are some steps to replace the battery: WARNING!! make sure your game will not save AT ALL. Once you remove the battery, ALL SAVED DATA DISAPPEARS FOREVER! 1) Use pliers or tweezers to unscrew cartridge. 2) Pry the battery off the contacts. Make sure not to break the contacts or bend them too much. Make sure you remember which side of the battery is up. It is easiest to use a soldering iron, but i used a razor blade and pliers. 3) put a new battery in. They can usually be found at stores that sell cell batteries and cost around 3-5 dollars for a pack of two. Look on the old battery to see what kind it is. 4) Tape the battery securely to the contacts. 5) Screw the cartridge back together and your game should save!
The internal battery in your game cartridge has died.
Most likely because the internal battery in your game is dead. It won't save unless you replace the battery inside of the game's cartridge.

The internal battery has probably ran dry. To fix this, open your cartridge and replace the battery.
It probobly doesn't have enough battery. Take it to GameStop to get a new battery. ------ Pokemon Yellow doesn't have an internal clock battery, Gold And Silver do. There are glitches that stop Yellow from being able to save. If you've attempted these glitches or accidentally found them, that's why.
if it is saying "save file corrupted" then your internal battery is dead. this battery powers the chip that saves data. to fix this just Google "how to replace a GBC internal battery". This same thing happened to me with my Pokemon crystal but i fixed it in a half an hour for less than $10.
Your internal battery, which regulates the watch and the save files, has gone dead.Using the instructions http://www.instructables.com/id/How-to-replace-the-battery-in-a-pokemon-goldsilve/ here, you can replace the battery yourself.
Yes, you can, just type in google "Pokemon game won't save" and there are many links explaining that you can change the internal battery, but its most likely a do-it-yourself job.
I don't think you are able to fix it but you can try to trade in for a used Pokemon ruby and see if it works.
If your Pokemon game keeps restarting and is unable to save it means that the internal battery in the cartridge is dead. You can either replace the battery or buy a new game. If your interested in replacing the battery you need a CR2025 coin cell battery. They're about 5 bucks
The battery thAT COUNTS IN THE GAME RUNS OUT SO THERES NO TIMER anymore and you cant save anymore.
What you do is that You click the start button, and press the up or down arrow until you get to save. You click save and it will say are you sure you want to save and you click yes, it will save. HOWEVER, if you are playing the original gold version then it runs on a save battery. The save battery may need to be replaced if saving does not work. -XS
