Jackie Chan absolutely did not convert to Islam despite the viral messages going around that he did. He was awarded the Panglima Mahkota Wilayah in Malaysia on 1 February 2015. A requirement of the ceremony is that awardees wear a traditional Malaysian hat, and in addition Jackie was seated next to an Islamic religious leader who was also being given the same award. The photo of Jackie wearing the required traditional hat and seated next to the religious leader is used as the proof of his conversion. In fact they are being given the same award and it is just a coincidence.
