All it takes is patience. Get the best weapons you can (no need to worry about defensive items against Punchbag Bob) and use "Fierce Attack" until his hit points are reduced fully to zero. For characters new to the Battledome I reccommend using the Ebony Dagger. It only costs about 500 NP and with it I killed Punchbag Bob in just under an hour. Good luck!
