Why did the capitol destroyed district 12 Since there was no uprising in this district why did they destroy it?

District 12 was Katniss and Peeta's home District and Katniss was the main reason for causing the rebellion. The Capitol destroyed the District, in turn destroying many people that Katniss knew and loved, in hopes to try and break her and prevent the rebellion from becoming too large. It was also a way of the Capitol showing their power. In the Dark Days Rebellion before the Games started, they managed to win the war by bombing District 13, which scared the other Districts into surrender. I assume they thought that blowing up District 12 would have the same effect, but Katniss isn't a push over!

What mockingbird symbolize in the Hunger Games?

Moths and butterflies represent transformation (caterpillar, to cocoon, to butterfly). The moth is supposed to symbolise the transformation of Katniss's personality. From being the girl who would destroy everything to protect herself and Prim, she supposedly becomes a brave woman who would put herself in danger (go to the feast and get seriously injured) to protect others. At the beginning of the book, she makes it clear that she only cares about her life and getting back to Prim, but when she goes to the feast to save Peeta, she shows that she is prepared to chance this.

What happens in The Hunger Games in chapter 15?

Chapter 14 begins just after Rue points to something above Katniss' head in the tree where Katniss is staying; the Careers are at the bottom of the tree that Katniss is in. It's a nest of tracker jackers, a muttation from the Capitol, killer wasps. Katniss decides to try and drop the nest on the Careers so that she can make her escape. She realizes she'll have to saw the whole branch off and send it down to the Careers. She does this during the anthem, but doesn't finish and decides to continue at dawn. When she returns to her sleeping bag, she has received her first gift from a sponsor; medicine for her burned calf. The next morning, she send the tracker jacker nest down into the group of sleeping Careers. The tracker jackers attack; Peeta and a few others bolt for the lake, but Glimmer and the district 4 girl are left behind. The district 4 girl is out of sight but Glimmer is killed by the killer wasps. Katniss climbs down from the tree and tries to take the bow and arrows from Glimmer before the hovercraft takes Glimmer away. Peeta returns and yells at Katniss to run just as Cato comes back; Peeta saves Katniss' life. She trips into a pit full of ants and blacks out.Chapter 15 picks up the next afternoon when Katniss wakes up. She now has Glimmer's bow and arrows. She finds a stream and drinks, washes her arrows and herself. Then she shoots a wild bird and begins to cook it before she hears a twig snap. It's Rue. Katniss offers to form an alliance. Rue gives Katniss some leaves for the tracker jacker stings, and Katniss gives her some of the burn medicine. They learn a bit about each other and begin to formulate a plan to get rid of the Careers' food.Chapter 16 starts with Rue and Katniss planning their attack on the Careers. Rue's been spying on the Careers a little, finding out that they've set up camp beside the lake and they've been leaving the district 3 boy as a guard. Rue tells Katniss about how there's a lot of mockingjays in district 11.Rue and Katniss finish their plan by lunch and are ready to carry it out soon after. They set up two piles of wood for campfires. Rue will do the third by herself. They set a meeting place for afterwards. Rue teaches Katniss her mockingjay song as a signal, and they split up.When Katniss reaches the lake, she hides in the bushes so that she can easily observe the Careers' camp without being spotted herself. She sees Cato pointing and knows that Rue's lit the first campfire to draw the Careers away from their camp. Katniss can hear the Careers arguing about whether or not the district 3 boy should come with them or stay at the camp. She hears someone asking about Peeta, and Cato keeps saying, "I know where I cut him" and "It's a miracle he hasn't bled to death yet." Eventually the Careers decide that the district 3 boy is going with them, and they set off, leaving the camp empty. Katniss sits there for a while, trying to figure out how to get rid of the supplies. She's about to reveal herself and start towards the supplies when she sees Foxface creping out onto the plain. Foxface runs for the pyramid of supplies. At a certain spot she stops and begins to place her feet more carefully in strange little steps. At one point, she falls on her hands and squeals, but nothing happens.Foxface fills her pack with a few crackers, a few apples, but not enough to tip off the Careers that some things are missing. Then she disappears into the woods again.Katniss thinks for a while before deciding that the area around the supplies is a minefield. She discovers that the district 3 boy must have reactivated the land mines around the starting plates from the beginning of the games. She finally comes up with a plan. She moves into range and takes aim. The first arrow she shoots tears through the side of a burlap sack of apples. The second widens it, and the third sets the apples free. The apples spill to the ground and the mines start going off with the end of chapter 16.

Where is district 12 in The Hunger Games?

First of all, you should read the books. But here's the answer: After reaping training starts. Katniss scores 11 out of 12. Peeta scores 8 out of 12. When the games start 13 tributes die at the begging. Then, Katniss is dieing of thirst. She finds water eventually. She finds Peeta with careers. She cuts down a tracker jacker hive Rue pointed out. Some careers quickly run. While others pick up supplies then run. Glimmer and another girl die from stings. Katniss had gotten 3 stings. Peeta tells her Cato's coming, and she runs away. Later, after she passes out, she awakes to find Rue giving her medicine. They create a plan to destroy career's food. After Katniss does that, she goes to where she was suppose to meet Rue. Marvel kills Rue then Katniss kills Marvel. Katniss sings Rue a song. Then, game makers change rules. Katniss finds Peeta. Then she goes to feast. She uses medicine. Peeta collects night lock, poisonous berries, then foxface eats them and dies. Then, Thresh dies from Cato. Peeta and Katniss go to cornucopia. Cato comes running with mutts chasing him. He climbs up cornucopia and puts Peeta in a choke hold. If katniss shoots Cato down Peeta will fall and die with him. Then peeta draws an x in cato's hand and katniss shoots him there, making him realise peeta and fall to his death. Then peeta and katniss win the hunger games.
