I was a very small boy, about 5, when I first discovered the old "Adventures of Superman" TV show, then in syndication, in the mid-60s. I have loved Superman ever since.
absolutely not because doomsday KILLED superman really killed superman The person who answered above is forgetting Superman wasn't actually dead and he came back and DESTROYED Doomsday... so yes he can beat Doomsday, he's done it before.
Brando was born in 1924, and Superman II was released in 1980.
In the original Superman (1978) and Superman II (1980), Lex Luthor was played by Gene Hackman (the character Lex Luthor wasn't in 1983's Superman III). In the latest one, Superman Returns(2006), Lex Luthor was played by Kevin Spacey.

Superman has never died for good. His death is best known for happening when he went down in the fight with the intergalactic monster Doomsday. He eventually revived as the laws of death do not apply to him like they do to regular humans. He has also died in episodes of old cartoons where he was overexposed to kryptonite- but there always seemed to be a way to bring him back. He is considered to be ageless from Earth's yellow sun and therefore will remain alive until it turns red.
Any villain not born on Krypton is an alien to Superman just as Superman himself is an alien to the people on Earth. His non-human villains started appearing in the 1950's. In the old TV series- "The Adventures of Superman"- he only battled humans although Lex Luthor did not ever appear once. In the 1930's and 1940's, he fought human criminals such as crime syndicates, mad scientists, and even the axis powers of Germany and Japan.

Superman made his initial appearance in Action Comics (number 1) in June, 1938. Since that time, the comic titles and even publishers have changed several times, but the legacy of Superman as an Everyman sort of American hero lives on - not only in comic books/novels but in live action television shows, animated features, and major motion picture studio film releases.
On his old planet and old sun he was under he was human. but since he is now super human and under another sun his life will be prolonged and increased just like his superpowers. human 80years old = SUPERMAN 700
