First please don't delete this. I will go ahead and let you know I'm a yugioh fan and have over 1,000 cards (includind doubles) and use spare money on yugioh, But I'm not here to say how yugioh (YU) is better than pokemon (PK). I'm here to say how they both have strong points and better instead of looking up and finding some information saying that one of these suck I'm here to tell the truth...

First you should know PK started before and has way more movies and episodes. As YU has few movies. If you walk into stores you will see PK has more products than YU and more people are buying PK products. So PK has apparently better profits than YU selling more products and having much more money.

A thing PK lacks, however, is variety and the franchise is running low on ideas. YU has over 3,500 cards and just made the xyz's which is bringing excitement back to Yu as PK has the same styles still and is still on "Black & White." Since 5D's YU lost money but is still trying to get back in and with Zexal's new xyz's Yu might have a upspring with money. For example Walmart brought back old GX and original packs and within 2 weeks all packs were gone except 1 "Tactical Evolution" which I bought.

PK has better Video Games than YU with better graphics and have all monsters unlike how YU will limit you with monsters. Though if you buy a new YU video game the game will come with promo cards which is a good deal.

Hands down! we damn know YU & PK is both better than magic: the gathering. Magic's prices can be to high and can give you less cards. If I'm correct you magic fans the best card is "Black Lotus?" and only a handful was made. On ebay the card goes upto $3,000 as yugioh's most powerful card (an Egyptian God the "Winged Dragon of Ra) is about $6.50 at the low average. Duel Masters, Digymon, and World of Warcraft follow behind.

Another is YU has a deck of 40 - 60 cards including a side deck while a PK has a 60 card deck but you need tons of cards to make a GOOD deck. In YU however, a good deck can be created from a structure/starter deck or some booster packs. Also, A YU duel can last up to a half hour usually, where as a PK battle can last upto a solid hour. So you could have a few YU duels in the time one PK duel takes place. YU also requires lots of strategy since it contains spell and trap cards that can only be activated in certain situations possibly making YU a more strategic game. PK can be more strategic in it's own way, but YU can be more intense and interesting.

Once at a friends house after wrapping up a match of black ops zombies my friend Henry pullled a box out from under his bed. The box contained PK cards. He didn't exactly know how to play and neither did I since I'm a YU fan. We drafted our Pokemon and started a match. I caught on quickly of how to play the game where as in YU it takes time to understand the basics. YU has a rulebook though and beginners guide as when you have to look on the internet for PK rules. So basically you can learn PK easier but YU at least has a rulebook.

Though PK has a larger franchise and gains better profit, YU makes up for this in it's card quality and gameplay.

No, Pokemon is better. Because Pokemon is easier to draw and easier to play. Yu-Gi-Oh is boring if you play it on DS, it's all just cards and trading. Pokemon has cute Pokemon. Almost none of the creatures from Yu-Gi-Oh are cute.

Yu-Gi-Oh mostly has a dark arena - Pokemon has any kind. Pokemon names are easier to say, some Yu-Gi-Oh creatures are way too hard to say.
