There a set number of steps before each egg is hatched, but i know a quick and easy way to hatch the egg. Go to Solaceon Town and go to the very right of the dirt road on your bicycle. Cycle up the road until u run into where the army of Psyducks are used to be, and then go all the way back until u hit the wall at the opposite end. Keep goin up and down again and again. It could take up to 30 cycles up and down but its a hell of a lot quicker than waiting for the egg to hatch normally.

To get an egg, you have to breed a male and female that are in the same egg group or species. You can also breed any Pokemon with a Ditto. It doesn't matter what gender it is, as long as it has a gender. The Pokemon that can't breed are Legendary Pokemon (for the exeption of Manaphy, who make a Phione. Phione CANNOT breed. Only Manaphy can make Phiones not other Manaphys.)
