No. Voldemort gained his first followers at Hogwarts. Although it is unknown what year Professor Quirrell was born in, he certainly wasn't old enough to be have been at school with Voldemort.
Quirrell met and joined Voldemort in 1990 during a year long sabbatical.
No, Quirrell was just someone that Voldemort shared a body with to stay alive. Voldemort only began sharing his body because Quirrell failed to steal the stone and Voldemort decided he needed to keep a closer eye on him.
He had Voldemort in the back of his head - what do you friking think?
Professor Quirrell, in the first book/movie. Quirrell was sharing his body with the soul of Lord Voldemort uses him because he's still trying to gain his strength back after losing his body from the attempted murder of baby Harry at Godric's Hollow. Voldemort's face can actually be seen at the back of Quirrell's head. Quirrell wears a turban throughout the book to hide this fact.
Ian Hart played Quirinus Quirrell in the movie Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The character Professor Quirinus Quirrell was a half-blood wizard who attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and was sorted into Ravenclaw House. He was the Muggle Studies professor at Hogwarts, though he later became the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher during the 1991-1992 school year.
Lord Voldemort was not yet sharing Quirrell's body at the time of shaking Harry's hand. This is a common misconception because when we first meet Quirrell in the movie he is already wearing a turban. However, in the book once Harry gets to Hogwarts he mentions that Quirrell has started to wear a turban.
Professor Quirrel died in the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Professor Sybill Trelawny is a bit of a different woman. She can predict anything, and it is true. Every word Professor Trelawny says is the truth.

Hard to define what 'first prisoner' is. It could be Professor Quirrell. It could be the wand maker, Ollivander.

Snape explains this to Bellatrix in the "Spinner's End" chapter of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. He says that he didn't know Quirrell was working with Voldemort, that "I saw only greedy and unworthy Quirrell attempting to steal the stone and, I admit, I did all I could to thwart him," (USA Scholastic hardcover edition, p28). This might actually be the truth. In "The Prince' Tale" chapter of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, when Harry watches the memories Snape gave him while he was dying, one of the memories is from Harry's first year: Dumbledore asks Snape to "keep an eye on Quirrell," (USA Scholastic hardcover edition, p679). It is not clear whether or not Dumbledore suspects Quirrell to be working with Voldemort at this point, or if he thinks Quirrell is trying to steal the stone all by himself. Dumbledore is, of course, a genius, so it is possible that he already knew Quirrell was working with Voldemort. But even if Dumbledore did already suspect that Quirrell was working with Voldemort, it doesn't necessarily mean that he shared this information with Snape.

Yes, Harry's mother did give her life to protect him. Her sacrifice conferred a special magical protection on him for a long time. This allowed Harry to survive both when Voldemort tried to kill him immediately after killing his parents and again in Harry's first year at Hogwarts, when Voldemort was possessing Professor Quirrell.
