What are opinions on Star Trek?

By this question I assume you want as many people as possible to answer this question, therefore leaving the other people's opinions on here too so that you can compare our opinions. (I just need to state that because people have been deleting other's answers).

I personally liked Star Trek TOS best, then Enterprise, and then The Next Generation (and that's simply because those are the only series I've seen so far). - Cat (babyjubjub4ever)

Star Trek, for instance ST Voyager contains important themes and morals to every day life; including a need to band together in bad situations, friends and loyalties over selfishness, finding a way home, putting a bold face on things, etc. If one can look past the 'geeky' exterior and ( as Coleridge is famously quoted for suggesting) willingly suspend your disbelief by accepting the story on it's own terms, ST:V has many important lessons for today.

It depicts a human utopia where money is no longer the ambition of 95% of the populace. Self improvement is the goal; along with technological advancement. Peaceful coexistence with those not like our selves is embraced with an eye towards the future.
