What are the similarities between the symbols of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows?

The difference between the book and the movie is that one is a book, and one is a movie, and both play to the strengths and work within the confines of their respective media.

The movie is based on the book and so is quite similar. Of course there were some changes as not everything translates to the screen and due to time constraints. The characters, settings and plot are all the same.

Some differences are:

• In the book the letters are delivered over a course of several days with the number increasing as the days go by. The Dursleys then go to a hotel and then to the rock. In the movie, there are fewer days and the letters arrive in less obscure ways. The hotel is skipped and they go straight to the rock.

• Harry doesn't meet Draco in Diagon Alley, instead they meet just before the Sorting Hat.

• The entire month of August appears to be skipped. Hagrid takes Harry to Diagon Alley on his birthday (31st July) and then immediately takes him to get the train which departs on the 1st September.

• In the book, Neville appears alone looking for his toad and then comes back with Hermione. In the movie, we only meet Hermione.

• The Midnight Duel was cut. Instead, Harry Ron and Hermione take the wrong staircase and meet Fluffy - without Neville.

• The troll is cut from the trapdoor challenges.

They also have different ideologies, resulting in them fighting each other.
