Amber's father is Italian and her mother is from an island located off the West coast of Africa an island country of Cape Verde. Around 80 percent of the population is Creole of mixed African, Jewish and European descent. The remainder of the population is mostly black Africans, with a number of whites. The Portuquese were the first to discover the island which was uninhabited. The Portuquese settled there for many years and also brought over slaves. Since they were the founders and the first people to step foot on the island. The culture became to be very European. Even if there were Many Africans on the Island they never had many African traditions the culture and customs remained Portuguese. The culture is beautiful. You have people that are pure African, mixed and European. It is a very unique culture. Today the population has become to change because of tourism the island has many immigrants arriving from other parts of Africa, Many Italians and English are now making Cape Verde there homes.
