What is the best way to beat a level 20 grovyle using a lvl 20 Marshstomp?

Battle a few trainers until you get to about level 24 (so you can take 2 hits from absorb) and stock up on super potions.
Use mud shot to lower grovyle's speed on the first turn. Second turn use mud slap to lower its accuracy. Now use a super potion each turn until grovyle misses, then use mud slap to further lower its accuracy.
Repeat until you get six mud slaps in (four or five may be enough). By now it can't hit the back door of a barn and you can kill it off with tackle.

If you still have absorb on a high level grovyle, keep using that. Even an aron would work well as electric moves would do little damage. Just keep trying, I had grovyle, and I couldn't beat the gym until he learned leaf blade.
