Why did Gale makes the comment that the capitol wants the districts to be divided that it is to their advantages what does he mean by this the hunger games book?

It means that if you have a large group of people divided they won't be nearly as strong as they could be together as a group. If they are divided they are easily controlled and the capitol can basically manipulate their situations however they please because usually the districts have no way of fighting back.

How are the Hunger Games like the Great Depression?

Easily. Not for districts 1, 2 and 3 who are wealthy but definitely for the rest of the districts, 4-12. Katniss (Main character) lives with her little sister and her mum in district 12, a very poor place. Katniss and her best friend Gale secretly sneek out of their district to hunt for food for their families everyday. Then they creep back to their homes and either sells their kill to some people at "The hob" an illegal trading place or keep it and eat it with her families. Besides food, they struggle for education, shelter and clothing. With Katnniss' dad dead from a mining incident, her and her mother are the only ones supplying for her family. Now, i don't know much about the great depression, but i know a lot about the hunger games. So basing off the title "The great depression" i'm hoping that this helped :)

What does the mockingjay symbolize in the book mockingjay?

In the Hunger Games trilogy, I believe that the mockingjay symbolizes hope. It is the symbol for Katniss' rebellion, a chance for all of the Districts to be free of the Capitol. The mockingjay itself is a creature that had evaded the Capitol's plans and had been a sort of 'slap in the face'. The rebellion is hoping to destroy the Capitol, making the curious mockingjay their symbol of hope and freedom.

What did the British discuss with the Jews and Arabs about being given countries in the middle east?

The British promised most of the Middle East to the Arabs in the McMahon-Hussein Correspondence of 1915 and promised Ottoman Palestine to the Jews in the Balfour Declaration of 1917. The McMahon Correspondence, is viewed by some (mostly Arabs and their sympathizers) to give Mandatory Palestine, among other territories, to the Arabs since McMahon generally promised Hussein the majority of the Arab-populated Middle East. However, there were some exceptions and the correspondence states in relevant part: The districts of Mersina and Alexandretta, and portions of Syria lying to the west of the districts of Damascus, Homs, Hama and Aleppo, cannot be said to be purely Arab, and must on that account be excepted from the proposed limits and boundaries [of the Arab State]. Since all of the British Mandate of Palestine lies west of these Syrian districts, it is at best ambiguous about whether Israel/Palestine belonged in the Arab area designated.By contrast, the Balfour Declaration of 1917 clearly describes that a Jewish Homeland would be created in the region of Palestine. If these two promises are to be read to avoid conflict, this can easily be done. However, since the promises are, at best, ambiguous, it can be said that Palestine was twice promised.
