the british monarch has lost no control over the uk. like many monarchs before her she keeps to the crown above politics and agreements with governments. the old civil list played a part in gaining the monarchs silence. the queen has also chosen to comply with the Bill of Rights act 1689. the queen gets to veto other things other than being able veto, withhold and postpone assent to laws. the queen at times is advised by the prime minister of the day and is said she has to comply with this advice although during my research i have not come across evidence of this.
