Queen Elizabeth sailed from her shipyard in Clydebank, Scotland, in March 1940 however she didn't enter passenger service until 1946 after she had completed amazing work for the allies in World War 2. She sailed until 1969.

Winston Churchill estimated that the two Queens helped to shorten the Second World War by at least a year.
