It was discovered in 1898 by Sir William Ramsey and Morris William Travers
Some astronomers told him about asteroids that could have been hunks of the exploded planet Krypton- so he went to investigate. The round-trip took years and accounts for the time-lapse between the old Superman movies and "Superman Returns".
absolutely not because doomsday KILLED superman really killed superman The person who answered above is forgetting Superman wasn't actually dead and he came back and DESTROYED Doomsday... so yes he can beat Doomsday, he's done it before.
To get an accurate measurement of superman's power you would need to take a look at the superman returns movie. In that it showcases his limits, when he lifts "krypton II" out of the ocean this easily weights more then 100 tonnes, and my guess as the island was expanding it required more power from the man of steel. Having saying this, there is no limit to superman's strength. It is situational.
Yes, unless he is around Kryptonite.
Superman a.k.a. Gayface Mcgee. Did nothing he just sat around and was a gay.
Krypton orbits around superman destroying him
Well superman hasent been around in awhile so in geussing you got alot of keiptonight n who in the hell can find it .... Did u dig it out the ground
Well according to what I found, in Superman #132 issue (around October 1959) this occured. Batman and Robin give Superman a chance to see what life on Krypton would have been had it not been destroyed. In the issue Kal-El still has the famous Superman suit and works with the Space Patrol of Krypton, apparently this would have been the regular look of the patrolmen. I believe he is still an average Kryptonian (without super-human powers) in the beginning. He evetually loses his father and mother (as well as his younger brother Zal-El) when their rocket crashes into an asteroid. Later in the issue he obtains his super powers with the help of a ray invented by a friend. He states at the end of the issue "How strange fate works! If Krypton had never exploded, I would have ended up there as Superman!".

Superman, by around three or four years.
Superman debuted in 1938, so Yes he was around in the 1960s.
Krypton was out in space near a red sun that was so old, it had caused the planet to blow up killing everybody still on it. The planet was thousands of years away in another galaxy- but baby Kal-El was launched to Earth and time did not change around him. So when he finally arrived on Earth- he was only a few years older than when his natural father Jor-El had sent him.
We generally find krypton as a gas. It boils at around -153 0C, and it is a gas anywhere it occurs naturally on the earth.
