Many dangerous spiders exist, but in North America the Black Widow and the Brown Recluse are the main ones to look out for. They are graceful on their webs but clumsy on a flat surface. Brown Recluses like to live inside and they are agile on a flat surface, but they mosty come out at night and hide in the daytime. Pictures of these spiders may be obtained on the internet, along with advice for dealing with their bite. I was bitten by a Gray widow last year and never felt any ill effects. The tarantula is a big and scary spider, but its bite is not dangerous to humans. If you live in Australia, the Sydney Funnel Web Spider is the one to fear. It is the most dangerous spider in the world.
