Who decided that Lee Harvey Oswald shot John F. Kennedy?

The initial investigation was conducted by the Dallas Police Dept. and the FBI; those are the agencies that made the initial determination. Unfortunately, because Oswald was also murdered, his case was never tried in a court of law to prove or disprove the allegation. The Federal Government set up the Warren Commission to investigate the crime and their final report concluded that it was Lee Harvey Oswald that shot JFK. The answer is, it was the decision of the Dallas police and the FBI, later confirmed by the Warren Commission.

Who assassinates John F. Kennedy?

Every investigation (and there has been more than one) has consistently determined that Lee Harvey Oswaldfired the shots that killed President Kennedy and wounded Texas Governor Connally. No investigation was ever able to substantiate that a conspiracy existed, or to prove that any other person was definitely involved. The evidence indicating Oswald's guilt is overwhelming. The shots were fired from his place of employment, the Texas School Book Depository. He had no alibi for the time of the shooting. His rifle was discovered on the floor where a sniper's nest was built. His prints were on the rifle. His prints were on the boxes that were used to construct the sniper's nest.Oswald was observed bringing a long package to work that morning by two people. This package was wrapped in plain, brown paper.Brown wrapping paper was found near the sniper's nest. It had Oswald's prints on it.He left work immediately after the shooting, the only employee to do so.He shot and killed a police officer when approached on the street. He resisted arrest by drawing his pistol and attempted to kill the arresting officer. He told one provable lie after another on substantive issues regarding the murders. The recovered bullet/fragments were determined to have been fired from Oswald's Mannlicher-Carcano rifle. The autopsy determined all the shots were fired from BEHIND, in the direction of the Texas School Book Depository. The bulk of the witnesses testified to having heard three shots - the exact number of empty cartridges discovered lying on the floor near the sniper's nest.Oswald was actually seen firing from the window by several witnesses, one of whom got a good enough look to give a fairly accurate description of him - which is what probably led the police officer (J.D. Tippit) to stop Oswald while walking along a sidewalk in the the Oak Cliff district of Dallas shortly after the shooting. The police were directed to Oswald in the Texas Theater (where he entered without paying) because Oswald was observed behaving strangely and shying away from police cars running up and down the street.Photographs were discovered showing Oswald holding the two murder weapons. His wife, Marina, admitted taking those photographs in their backyard. Oswald claimed the photograph was a fake. Ultimately, the investigators had THREE such photos that were all examined by a photographic panel and determined to be unaltered. There is much speculation but all evidence indicates the Mafia. Many don't know about it but there was a contract out on the President and at the time, his brother was attorney general and actively deporting gangsters. Of course all his power came from the Presidency. Hoover knew about the contract and hated Kennedy who planned to retire him against his will. Hoover was also very close to Johnson and because of his business dealings had him pretty much in his pocket. There is strong evidence to support Oswald was set up and just used to take the blame. His assassination to shut him up also supports this. Others were there just to ensure they were successful and proceeded knowing Oswald was in place. What is debatable is if Oswald was involved in any way. Evidence indicates he did not know he would be the scapegoat for a Presidential assassination since someone who looked like him was making the rounds prior to the event and being overly obvious about throwing his name around at shooting ranges and so forth obviously setting up a frame and something a real assassin wouldn't advertise.. Evidence also indicates he did not know about the rifle. He was tricked into taking a curtain rod to work which he never would have done if he knew there was a rifle to be associated with. There is also some evidence that Oswald at one time was associated in some way with the CIA and his Communist activities were blown up. The FBI was watching him at the time, not unusual since they watched everyone they could use and used secret files for blackmail and may have just picked him out of the stack.Lee Harvey Oswald assassinated John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963

Did Lee Harvey Oswald act alone?

Nobody really knows this answer, and even The Warren Commission, who was a group of people studying this topic could not really prove if he was. We will unfortunately never know. HOWEVER: Some people do believe that it was a government plot. Have a look on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kennedy_assassination_theories & http://mcadams.posc.mu.edu/home.htm & http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/features/2008/11/conspiracy200811 & http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1635958_1635999_1634964,00.html Think what you want.

Was John F. Kennedy's death a conspiracy?

Yes, it was. A conspiracy of one, so to speak, Lee Harvey Oswald. There is no evidence that John Kennedy's assassination was a conspiracy. It could be said that there is no evidence disproving it either, because proving such a negative is impossible. You cannot *prove* there are no undetectable unicorns in the room with you, but this does not support the idea that there are any. Similarly, the inability to prove Oswald had no (completely unnecessary) helper in no way supports the idea that he may have had help. The McAdams link I am posting below goes to the single best, most scrupulously skeptical, page on the Net.Many people believe that there was a conspiracy to kill John F. Kennedy, but to date, no credible theory has been presented. The mainstream view of historians, supported by the hard evidence, is that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone. Not unless you mean a conspiracy of one, Lee Harvey Oswald.Having lived through the Kennedy era, his death was the '9/11' of his day, similar to the death of Diana Princess of Wales; it was an event where you can remember where and when you heard the news, and what you were doing at the time.It is also an event which, like all devastating news events, in the aftermath of these conspiracy theories become commonplace. There are conspiracy theories that suggest that President Bush somehow knew that 9/11 was about to happen; that Diana was murdered; that Elvis faked his death; that the Apollo moon landings were hoaxes; and that Kennedy's death was a cover up because of a conspiracy. The Warren Commission - set up to investigate the assassination - reached the conclusion that a lone gunman, Lee Harvey Oswald, was responsible for Kennedy's death. While trivial and unimportant details can be quibbled about, the main conclusion, Oswald's guilt, cannot be reasonably doubted. As with the other conspiracy theories mentioned above, there is no real evidence that any conspiracy took place. It was a one person job, no need to postulate anyone else involved. No magic bullets were needed, and the "Badgeman" on the grassy knoll would have been cat-sized, if he had actually existed at all.

What was Lee Harvey Oswald's connection to the Mafia?

Not that anyone knows and can prove. I suspect that kinda like Kevin Bacon, there aren't too many people between any of us and the Mafia. But the Mafia would be fools to let anyone like Oswald in. He wasn't "quiet", politically, and people who draw attention to themselves are not what the Mafia is looking for.

What was the theory that Lee oswald assassinated John F. Kennedy?

Very simple. Oswald took his rifle to work that day. He did absolutely none of his assigned work. He left his rifle, prints, shell casings, rifle bag, and fiber evidence on the boxes of the sniper's nest and the rifle. His rifle was matched to both the bullet and shell casing evidence. He was alone on the floor from which the shots were fired. He was seen firing on the president. After he escaped the building, he used his pistol to murder Officer Tippet, who pulled over to talk to him after Oswald's description was radioed to the police. Doesn't sound much like innocence to me! He tried, but failed, to shoot the arresting officers shortly thereafter. Evidence found in his belongings prove that he had also tried to assassinate another public figure months earlier (General Walker) but missed. It is clear from the things he said and did and wrote, that he wanted to be famous and get his name in the history books. So the obvious theory that best covers the available facts, are that Lee Harvey Oswald, with no sign of, or need for, outside help shot JFK.

Why did the government cover up the John F. Kennedy assassination?

They didn't. The simple facts of this open-and-shut case are as follows: Lee Harvey Oswald, alone, fired 3 shots at the President, hitting him twice. It took the more advanced forensics of more modern times to explain the bullet path of the second bullet, as well as to prove there was a concrete wall between the President and the Grassy Knoll "sniper" location at the time of the third, and fatal, head shot. Oswald just wanted to get his name in the history books and did... there is no speck of evidence that he had or needed help. The simple facts are not enough to satisfy some people. They dislike gays, or the CIA, or the Mafia, and to their mind, this constitutes proof that JFK was killed by a conspiracy of same. The fact there is no shred of solid evidence, let alone proof, of any of this, is not interpreted as proof the conspiracy theory is wrong... as always, the conspiracy theorists take the lack of proof as evidence that the conspiracy was *perfect*!
