I agree, if there was a conspiracy of a group of people why wouldn't they have bought Lee Harvey a better rifle? Whatever else , he had the best shot. That is, if you disregard the study of science and ballistics completely and believe that it's possible for a bullet to disobey Newton/Kepler's laws of motion and continue motion back toward the direction where it was applied from. (Which happens all the time! Like when someone pushes you and you fall TOWARD them instead of away from them!). The fact is we don't know who shot JFK. There isn't conclusive evidence to firmly point the finger in any direction. The physical evidence shows that Oswald could not have fired the fatal shot, and the circumstantial evidence for there being a large, premeditated conspiracy is paltry and thin at best, and incomprehensibly illogical at worst. The fact is, we don't really know who shot JFK, we cannot prove who shot JFK, and the most reasonable and mature answer anyone could give is that. To jump to conclusions in a case that, if done properly, could not get an honest grand jury indictment is foolish and vain. My personal theory is that Oswald fired the first shots, and a Secret Service agent within the motorcade attempted to return fire, fell when the motorcade lurched forward (which multiple witnesses claim DID happen) and by some freak of nature the bullet beat millions to one odds and killed the president, and then the incoming Johnson administration ordered a cursory cover up (which the alleged cover up instances that did happen were so slipshod and poorly executed, it's impossible for me to believe they were planned) in order to protect the life of the accidental assassin, and stem the flow of public outrage that surely would've came if the US public found out that a popular president had been killed by his own security) But, like all of the other theories about the Kennedy case, their are major problems with this one too.

Lee Harvey Oswald shot John F. Kennedy. Oswald was a man who never fit in; no matter what he tried, he always ended up alienating himself from the "group". The likelihood that he could cooperate or coordinate this activity with another person or persons is very remote. He had the training, the skill, and the means to carry it out all by himself. Most of all, after all of his failures, he had the motivation to make this grand gesture that ensure that his name would always be a part of American history.
