Scott Belmer (aka Belmo) was born in Nebraska in 1952. His family moved to South Dakota in 1956 where Scott lived until 1974. He graduated from SDSU in 1974 with a degree in History and Education. In 1976 he moved to Anchorage Alaska where he lived for fifteen years and worked as a photographer, restaurant manager, and clothing store manager. During that time Scott (as Belmo) edited and published the international Beatles newsletter, "Belmo's Beatleg News". This publication reviewed the latest Beatles bootlegs and updated subscribers to the latest news on unreleased and rare Beatles recordings.

Belmo is the author of twelve books - seven on The Beatles, one on Jimi Hendrix, one on the music of the psychedelic sixties, a book of humor, a Science Fiction book and one book detailing the true story of nine Buddhist monks' escape from Tibet.

Belmo currently lives in northern Kentucky and continues to write and take photographs.
