Thomas Seymour was the younger brother of Jane Seymour, King Henry VIII of England's third wife. He was extremely handsome, masculine, witty and graceful and women found him irresistible, and he was known to be a philanderer. But he was also very reckless, rash and indiscreet. This was a bad thing since he was extremely ambitious. Thomas Seymour found Catherine Parr a twice widowed woman's sparkling wit and intellectual discussions breathtaking and sought to marry her. Catherine Parr was like most women drawn in by Thomas's extreme masculine charm, striking good looks and wit and found him irresistible and fell madly in love with him. And he with her although he could have married a more prettier woman. I do not believe that Catherine had sexual intercourse with him until they were secretly married. Her religious principles would of allowed it But Catherine had attracted the attention of King Henry VIII and heartbrokenly she broke up courting with Thomas and married King Henry and became his sixth wife. King Henry sent his rival, Thomas Seymour abroad. Catherine Parr became to love King Henry's daughter, the ten year old Princess Elizabeth like her own daughter. She found the beautiful and high spirited yet serious princess fascinating and had the best scholars and professors in the land educate her. The Princess became the most intelligent person in the world by the death of her father in 1547. Thomas Seymour who had recent came between 1544 to 1545 was betrothed to the young Princess Elizabeth. And in 1544 Princess Elizabeth and Princess Mary were reinstated in the succession. On the 28th January 1547 King Henry VIII died. And the precocious nine year old fanatical Protestant, Prince Edward became King Edward VI of England. Catherine Parr moved to the beautiful Manor of Chelsea and brought her fourteen year old stepdaughter, Princess Elizabeth with her. Princess Elizabeth sprouted from being a quiet, serious and grave girl in her simple black satin dress with her white ruff with no jewels. Into a lively, humorous, pert and buoyant girl. And wore beautiful clothes and behaved like a girl something she had not been able to do since her mother's execution. Thomas Seymour I believe was erotically attracted to the princess at this stage. It must have made the loins of Thomas Seymour quiver at the thought of having the daughter of King Henry VIII known in his youth as being very skilful and sporty in the bedchamber and the seductive, alluring, vivacious and taunting Frenchified. And what bedsports they may get up to. But she was also very lively, charming and pert and said to have an irresistible personality, if this was not enough for Thomas she was also very beautiful with her father's famous bright golden red thick rich hair which fell to her waist, as well as her father's much admire glowing healthy white complexion and her mother's seductive, vivacious and completely alluring and expressive large dark almond shaped eyes, her mother's taunting irresistible smile and her mother's sensual slender figure. And so not only did she have youth, beauty and intelligence, but she was also extremely popular with the English people and third in line to the throne of succession. But Thomas Seymour was denied from marrying her, so half heartedly married Catherine Parr secretly, where he would be able to have daily access with the princess. Thomas's eldest brother, Edward Seymour had made himself Lord Protector of England, Head of the Privy Council and Duke of Somerset and only gave Thomas the titles of Lord Baron of Sudeley and Lord Admiral of the King's fleet and England. But although furious Thomas Seymour was by this time too attracted to the young princess. Was it true genuine love? Or was it just violent lust for her? Either way he did have many lewd thoughts of her. And even risking his wife's heartbreak who was carrying his child went into the princess's bedchamber and she who also desired him pretended to be shocked and disgusted, but really she encouraged him enjoying his company. Did they have sex? I don't know, I wouldn't be surprised they were many times when they were caught alone together by Kat Ashley. Even though fourteen is said to be too young now, in those days girls were in their mid pregnancies with a baby in the cradle by the princess's age (fifteen) and no doubt Elizabeth found Thomas's attention stimulating and flattering. But whenever he was looking inside his heart or inside his hose when he thought of Elizabeth, he certainly was deeply attracted to her. So attracted they say that when Catherine Parr unexpectedly walk in on them playing between the sheets and sent her stepdaughter away who was said to be pregnant that he poisoned his wife. But what makes it even more suspicious is the fact that no sooner had his wife died did he ask for Elizabeth's hand in marriage and that they should marry in secret. But Elizabeth knew since she was a princess by the blood without the monarch's consent it would be treason and refused. Thomas Seymour rushed into a rash act planning to kill the King and his brother, lead a rebellion and marry Elizabeth and make her his Queen. But he was quickly imprisoned in the Tower and thanks to Elizabeth quick wit she was saved. But Thomas wasn't so lucky and was tried for high treason for trying to kill the King and marry the King's sister without royal consent. He was found guilty and remorselessly King Edward signed his uncle's death warrant Thomas was beheaded on the 20th March 1549. Elizabeth scarcely escaped the block through her sharp wit. When told the news of his death she said serenely: "Today died a man of much wit and very little judgement"

No, there is no evidence, only suspicions at the time. However, it does appear that Seymour paid unhealthy attention to Elizabeth when she was around 14. It would seem that his aim was to marry Elizabeth, which he didn't achieve, but ended up being beheaded for treason.
