Gideon believed that God had forsaken him because the Israelites were suffering under the oppression of the Midianites and he felt abandoned in their time of need. He expressed his doubts and fears when he encountered the angel of the Lord, questioning why such hardships were allowed if the Lord was truly with them. Additionally, Gideon’s sense of inadequacy and his humble background contributed to his feelings of abandonment, as he struggled to see how he could be the one chosen to lead Israel to victory.
The angel conveyed a message to Gideon that he was chosen by God to save Israel from the oppression of the Midianites. The angel reassured Gideon of God's presence, calling him a "mighty warrior" despite his doubts and insecurities. This divine encounter encouraged Gideon to embrace his calling and led him to seek further signs from God to confirm his mission.
The Gideon Organization, commonly known as the Gideons International, is named after the biblical figure Gideon, who is known for his leadership and faith in God. The organization was founded in 1899 with the mission to distribute Bibles and promote Christian values, reflecting Gideon's commitment to spreading God's word. The name symbolizes their dedication to evangelism and reaching people with the message of Christianity.
Initially, Gideon had 32,000 volunteer soldiers when he was called to lead the Israelites against the Midianites. However, God instructed him to reduce this number, ultimately leading to only 300 men remaining to fight. This reduction was meant to demonstrate that victory would come from God's power, not the size of Gideon's army.
Gideon tore down the pagan alter's of his father. However, Gideon is not considered a giant of faith since he continually showed doubt. In the end, he triumphed and set the enemy to flight by following God's plan for the battle.
Answer Those are two different stories. Gideon and the 300 - Gideon trusts in the Lord to deliver victory. He was a man that God called while hiding from his enemy. He learned to trust God and not numbers of men. Samson was called to a Nazrene vow not to cut his hair. God showed favor to him when he remained faithful to his vow and gave him strength of many men. Samson took his eyes off God and in a time of weakness he failed. However, he repented and God forgave him.
God will never forsake any of us including non Christians. We will feel forsaken but we should remember that God has not forsaken us. So should we ever feel forsaken? NO. but we will.

Dew
Gideon tested God with a fleece of wool before answering His call to lead the Israelites. In the Book of Judges in the Bible, Gideon asked God for a sign of dew on the fleece only, and then for it to be dry while the ground around it was wet. God provided both signs to confirm His message to Gideon.
