Professor Quirrell suffered severe burns and blisters when he touched Harry Potter. In the movie he began to crumble away.
This is because Lily Potter sacrificed herself for her son and Lord Voldemort could not harm him. As Professor Quirrell was sharing his body with Voldemort, he too could not touch him.
