Would Superman beat Galactus

Through Green Lantern Continuity both Hal Jordan and John Stewart have been shown defeating Superman. So has Mogo [the planet-sized Green Lantern]. Outside of continuit there was Red Son where a communist Superman defeated a cop of untrained green lanterns, which I don't feel shows the true power of Green Lanterns, not to mention the powerfulness of Superman in that story.

However, in the Superman Batman storyline, Superman defeats Kilowog and Hal Jordan at just about the same time, though they were mind controlled and probably not working to their potential of powers.

Basically, by continuity, it could go either way, depending on writer Fiat. But being biased as I am Green Lantern wins.

Superman battled Green Lantern Hal Jordan in Action Comics 437. The battle lasted for 3 pages only. Neither of them was holding back. Green Lantern attacked Superman with various power ring tricks but Superman knocked him out in the end.

In Justice League: A League of One, Diana the Wonder Woman defeats Kyle Rayer by taking off his ring and distracting him and then head butting him unconscious. She systematically defeated the entire JLA with tactic or wits and then went on to fight a dragon of myth.

In Wonder Woman vol 3. #18 and #19 Wonder Woman fights a seasoned Green Lantern, Pro Cannon Kaa, and after a particularly bloody fight she defeats him and makes him into an ally.

It can"t happen, it"s like saying Could Lee beat Patton? Galactus is a character in Marvel comics, and Superman has always been the standard-bearer for DC/ Team-ups or interlockings are extremely rare. they did have one Superman versus Spider-Man but that was a special issue. there is little overlap between the DC and Marvel characters and (Universes). N"uff said.

If Supermanever would fight Galactus he would win. Superman is the best superhero and has almost every power. he would win

Galactus would win; he could simply resurrect himself and return from death. Also Superman has an official weakness where as Galactus doesn't, although he does need nourishment from planets to stay alive.

Galactus would obviously win, the suns that superman uses to charge, galactus eats for lunch.

Green Lantern is not more powerful than superman as Green lantern power is derived from his ring and the alien technology around it whilst Superman is fuelled naturally by the sun. However "Does the power available to the ring bearer (ie Green Lantern) through the ring surpass that of supermans is another question to which the answer would probably be no as it is restricted by the thought construct ability of the green lantern wearing it whereas supermans powers are available to him virtually 24/7 without relying on alien technology. Of course another concept to these sort of questions means examing what having the greatest power really means (ie Is it being the strongest, fastest etc or should it be based on something else - IE; Even the power of Marvels thunder god thor could be undermined by someone whose wisdom is such that he can overcome thor, perhaps by using thors own power against him, therefore it could be argued that wisdom is the greatest power, but then you would have to look at types of wisdom IE: Human as opposed to Godly. Anyway I think I have said enough for now.

Superman would beat Green Lantern.

Superman is a more popular character and D.C would make him win if they had to fight.

Superman also has a lot of power and different abilities such as freeze breath and laser beams from his eyes. Green Lantern may be powerful but if you take his ring what is he? Just a regular guy.

Yes, definitely. It would be a long war between the two of them but Superman will bring victory. It is easy for Superman to win against Green Lantern, because the Lazar beam Superman man has, is equal to those of Green Lantern. So Superman doesn't only include Lazar beam but also various deadly attacks. Superman is immortal whereas Green Lantern is mortal. Even if Superman gets shot by a "Kryptonite", he'll still live but will be down, totally weakened. As a result, Superman wins against Green Lantern!
