all organisms feed on different levels. these are called trophic levels. eg: the grass outside can be fed on by cows and horses or basically herbivores. therefore, herbivores are said to feed on one trophic level. likewise, carnivores all feed on another trophic level but omnivores can feed on two because the consume both meat and plants
