When was niobium found?

Niobium was found in 1801supplement. Niobium and Tantalum are often found together. Niobe was the daughter of Tantalus, who had some bad luck.In Greek mythology, he was under a grape vine, but when he reached for fruit, it retreated. Nearby was a jug of water, but when reached for, it also retreated. [Very ROUGH interpretation of fable!]Anyway, when this metal (Ta) was found, no real use could be found for it hence the name (from tantalize). It is also biologically inert, and in this role was used for metal plates covering trephining etc holes in the head.Nowadays, its fine oxide coating makes it valuable for tantalum capacitors in electronics.

What are facts about the element nb?

It exists. It has mass. It is used in optics to make laser crystals and switches for pulsed lasers. Niobium is an useful element.

Is an example of pure chemistry?

Is nobelium a solid liquid or a gas?

No. For nitrogen to be a solid (below its melting point), it must be lower than 346oF No. Nitrogen is a gas at room temperature.

What elements do lead react with?

It only reacts with some acidsReactions of Lead (Pb) with cold, dilute acids are very slow. Some examples are as follows:-1) Reaction with dil. HCl and gives PbCL2 and H2 gas.Pb + 2HCl ---> PbCl2 + H2Solid Aqs. Aqs. Gas2) Reaction with dil. H2SO4 and gives PbSO4 and H2 gas.Pb + H2SO4 ----> PbSO4 + H23) Reaction with dil. HNO3 and gives Pb(NO3)2 and H2 gas.Pb + 2HNO3 ------> Pb(NO3)2 + H2Read more at the following link.http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_will_happen_if_lead_is_allowed_to_react_with_dilute_acid#ixzz20ZyQy7B8
